Work Parties: Held on the
last Thursday of every month and run from 10.00 - 13.00.
All tools and gloves are provided and a ranger will supervise
the tasks. Would-be volunteers are invited to meet us at
the Redwood Drive entrance (Grid Ref: SZ074013).

Nature Walks
George Dunkling will be undertaking several Nature Walks
at Slop Bog commencing all at 10am from Redwood Drive entrance
on the above dates.
No dogs please.

Nature of the Night 9pm
Come out, come out wherever you are! See bats flying and
feeding over Slop Bog and listen to the "echo location"
sounds and calls with the aid of bat detectors. Discover
the variety of moths and other insects drawn to moth traps.
Join the Rangers to search for other nocturnal creatures
eg Tawny Owls, Nightjars and Woodcocks. Torches and insect
repellant advised. No dogs please. Meet at Redwood Drive
or West Moors Road entrances

Open Day at Slop Bog 2pm - 5pm
Something of interest for all the family including Nature
displays; Demonstrations of besom making, pole lathe turning
and bird box construction. See the raptors from Wessex Bird
of Prey Rescue and the Dorset Bat Group will be there too......

3pm Judging of the Photographic and Children's Drawing competitions

3.30 pm Fun Dog Show all sizes and breeds welcome. If it
all gets too much, take a breather at the refreshment stall

Dragonfly Walk 2pm-4pm
A chance to see close up the beautiful adults and their
water nymphs. Some ponds can be viewed from the easy access
boardwalk but others involve some rough terrain. Please
be prepared with boots/wellingtons plus suncream and drink
if it is hot. Phone 01425 483809 to book a place. No dogs
